Beijing and Chuan Di Xia

Chris is having some trouble posting to the blog so she asked me to pass on some information and add some photos they took. The flight over was a very long one...3 legs...first to Chicago, then Tokyo and then Beijing. From take off in Dallas to landing in Beijing it was a total of 25.5 hours. She was thankful that she and Daisy got a courtesy upgrade to business class. That made the flight much better. Daisy enjoyed watching the little television!

Mrs Brandt arrived a couple of days before Mrs. Jones and was able to explore some villages and see some of the countryside outside of Beijing. She took a tour of a small village called Chuan Di Xia that has been around since the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644 AD). Her tour guide treated her to some chinese soup and lunch.

Several of the homes looked very old with rock walls and tile roofs. The countryside is very hilly outside of Beijing, too.

Mrs. Jones arrived on Sunday evening and we went to the City Market and Forbidden City on Monday and Tuesday. More to come!

They learning and seeing alot. Stay tuned!
